MASTER CHORALE OF SOUTH FLORIDA PRESENTS CONSIDERING MATTHEW SHEPARD May 31 and June 1, 2024

By Craig Hella Johnson

Brett Karlin, Conductor

This fresh, emotional oratorio honors the life and legacy of Matthew Shepard, who was the victim of one of America’s most notorious anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes. The work incorporates Matt’s words, interviews with his parents, newspaper accounts of his murder, and soul-rending poems into a piece called “powerfully cathartic” and “a deeply moving experience.”

As this season’s “Concert for a Cause,” a portion of proceeds from these concerts will be shared with SunServe, a local organization providing critical life assistance and mental health services to the most vulnerable members of South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community.

Venues are handicap-accessible

PREFERRED SEATING will be in a reserved section with an improved musical experience.
Available online only.
